What locals actually order

Three Michelin stars. Book six weeks out, or don't bother.

Sit on the terrace in January. Order the burrata, skip the mains.

Breakfast in the courtyard before 9am, before the tour groups land.

Chai and a regag at midnight — the most Dubai thing you can do for AED 15.
Ask the concierge
Dinner tonight, a Friday plan, or where to take visiting parents — ask in plain English and get an answer built from what residents actually recommend. On the website, or over WhatsApp when you’re already out.

Walk-in dinner in DIFC tonight, not stuffy?
Go to Gaia at Gate Village. The bar takes no reservations, so it is a reliable walk-in when the dining room is full, and the back courtyard is quieter than the front terrace. Order the sea bream carpaccio. If you would rather watch the chefs, the counter at Barrafina is walk-in only too.
Where do you fit in?
